2025 WCDP Award Nominations Open
At our 2025 Fundraising Dinner + Silent Auction, The Art of Democracy: Celebrating Expression and Freedom, we’ll be giving out awards to the people who best exemplify the Democratic spirit and contribute to the growth of our party and progress in our community.
Here are the awards we’re seeking nominations for:
- Democrat of the Year: This award goes to a Warren County Democrat who deserves unique recognition for either their leadership of the party over the last year or otherwise helping to represent the party in an exemplary way that reflects the best attributes and ideals of the Democratic Party.
- Rising Star: This award recognizes a newer Warren County Democrat who is an emerging leader. Someone who contributed to making WCDP a stronger party in service to either the party or its candidates in the past year.
- Generosity Award: Some people are just truly generous with their time or other resources. The Generosity Award goes to the person whose contributions are always above and beyond to make the WCDP a stronger party in service to either the party or its candidates in the past year.
- Nevertheless, She Persisted: In 2017, Mitch McConnell attempted to silence Senator Elizabeth Warren with this phrase during Jeff Sessions’ confirmation hearing for Attorney General — and then progressive women adopted it as a rallying cry. It refers to any strong woman who refuses to be silenced. Fighting all forms of discrimination against women takes persistence. This award goes to the woman who got the message to stop advocating for her rights, either directly or indirectly, yet she continued to fight and successfully brought positive change.
- Young Democrat of the Year: Young Democrat of the Year goes to recognize a young (40 or under) Warren County Democrat who is an emerging leader. Someone whose contribution in making WCDP a stronger party in service to either the party or its candidates in the past year.
Nominations close on July 22nd, so nominate that deserving someone today!
