2024 Gala & Silent Auction
Our 2024 Gala & Silent Auction will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be joined by Elizabeth Brown, the Honorable Greg Landsman (OH-01), and HD-55 candidate Laura Marie Davis as our speakers!
The WCDP Gala is always a good time with spectacular speakers, great food, and fellowship — and the silent auction is our main fundraising event every year.
Tickets are $85 per ticket or $640 for a table of eight. Ticket sales close on Wednesday, July 24th, so get your tickets while you can! Buy your tickets today!
At our 2024 Gala, we’ll be hearing from dynamic guest speakers:
Keynote speaker Elizabeth Brown is a proven progressive leader. She has championed family rights and women’s rights, while bringing people from all sides together to make voices heard and create public policy that strengthens the promise of broad-based prosperity for all.
She is currently the President and CEO of YWCA Columbus; before that, she served for seven years on the Columbus City Council, serving as president pro tempore, and also served as the executive director for the Ohio Women’s Public Policy Network. She’s also the daughter of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, and will be speaking to us to talk about why it’s so important to reelect Sherrod Brown to the Senate.
The Honorable Greg Landsman has served in the U.S. House representing Ohio’s 1st congressional district, which includes Warren County, since we helped get him elected in November 2022.
A former public school teacher, Greg Landsman spent his career fighting for working families. Greg led the Preschool Promise initiative, which now provides two years of quality preschool for Cincinnati’s three and four year olds, and spent five years on Cincinnati City Council. Today, Greg is proud to represent Southwest Ohio in Congress, where he continues to champion what matters most to those at home: protecting our freedoms, lowering costs, and making it easier to raise a family.
Laura Marie Davis has been endorsed by the Warren County Democratic Party to represent Ohio House District 55, which includes northern and eastern Warren County, in the state legislature. She grew up in Deerfield Township and graduated from William Mason High School. She studied Biology at Case Western Reserve University and served as an AmeriCorps member in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, leading environmental education programs. Laura Marie then spent six years living in North Carolina, where she worked in community outreach & engagement for nonprofit organizations.
The 2016 election cycle and its after-effects inspired Laura Marie to get engaged in politics. She served on her local Environmental Affairs Board and Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors for several years, before making the decision to return home to southwest Ohio. Laura Marie’s professional work in public engagement aligns with her desire to serve the communities that she calls home.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction is by far the biggest money-maker for the party at the Gala — with offerings that range in size from week-long stays at vacation homes to gift baskets with crafts, alcohol, or gift cards to local businesses.
But the Silent Auction doesn’t work unless we get donations from party members! Click here for more information about donating to the silent auction.
