Neighborhood Teams

OVERVIEW WCDP Neighborhood Teams:

Lead Where You Live

What are Neighborhood Teams?

Neighborhood Teams are the foundation of WCDP’s year-round organizing strategy. They connect volunteers to voters in their own communities, build lasting relationships, and create a sustainable pipeline of leaders – so we’re not starting from scratch every election.

Instead of organizing only during campaign season, Neighborhood Teams help us:

  • Stay visible and engaged year-round
  • Build trust with voters through relationships
  • Support candidates with consistent, coordinated voter contact
  • Grow new leaders at every level of the party

Why Neighborhood Teams Matter in 2026

  • One of the strongest Democratic candidate slates in years
  • 2-3 elections requiring serious organizing and fundraising
  • Momentum from recent Democratic wins
  • Republicans leaving their party and persuadable voters up for grabs

  • Participate at a level that fits their capacity

Neighborhood Team Leaders

  • Coordinate multiple precincts or a defined neighborhood area
  • Support and mentor PEs and team members
  • Help translate county-wide strategy into local action

Regional Team Leaders

  • Support multiple Neighborhood Teams within a region
  • Coordinate regional goals, training, social events, parades/community events, and communication
  • Serve as a bridge between teams and WCDP

What Neighborhood Teams Do

  • Talk with neighbors about issues, elections, and candidates
  • Door knock, phone bank, and engage relationally
  • Host or support local social and community events
  • Identify future volunteers, leaders, and candidates
  • Assist with sign placement and poll greeting at their polling location on Election Day

Activity ramps up during election season – but relationships are built year-round.

How WCDP Supports Teams

  • Clear goals and expectations
  • Training and onboarding for all roles
  • Tools, data, and voter contact support
  • Regular communication and check-ins
  • Social opportunities to build community and prevent burnout
