Participants will learn about how efforts to oppose abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and freedom of speech are all deeply connected in Ohio, and why the struggle to protect all of these rights is really one fight with many fronts. You’ll also hear the latest updates about legislation that could impact these key areas, as well as dive into some local action steps for change that you can take today to help defend the values Ohioans hold most dear.

Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers located at 233 South Main Street
2023 is the year for electing non-partisan local offices: Township trustees and fiscal officers, mayors, city and village councils and fiscal boards, and school boards.
It’s not too early to start thinking and planning if we really want to win some of these contests. Please join LEAD Ohio for “The ‘Pow-Her’ To Run for Office”, a virtual training event for those who are interested in running (or those who know someone who might be interested in running) for public office in 2023.
LEAD Ohio staff will cover necessary first steps when considering a run for office and then how to start a campaign after deciding to run. Maybe you or another woman in your life is thinking they might want to run for something? Join LEAD Ohio to hear about and discuss everything from how to search for open offices, to having conversations about running with your family, to filing petitions.
Information on action taken at Council Meetings can be obtained from the City Manager’s Office by calling or emailing the office the day following the meeting.
