With an increased focus on immigration enforcement it’s important to Know Your Rights and Know Your Power! Come learn about what your rights are if you’re stopped by ICE and what we can do to prepare and protect our community.
Samantha Searls is a Program Director at Ignite Peace (formerly known as IJPC, Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center). At Ignite Peace, Samantha leads their immigration justice work and facilitates educational programming on nonviolence and anti-racism. Originally raised in Findlay, Samantha attended the University of Indianapolis to earn a degree in social work and later received her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to her time at Ignite Peace, Samantha served as a community organizer working on environmental, economic, and social justice issues. Samantha currently serves as a board member for the Wesley Foundation in Cincinnati and the Queen City Freedom Band. In 2023, Samantha was recognized as one of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Women of the Year.
