VIRTUAL LIVE TRAINING: Expert Q&A Messaging Around Reproductive Rights & Abortion
Jul 20 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Join the National Democratic Training Committee for this great virtual training event!

With the recent onslaught of state laws across the country targeting abortion and reproductive rights, we must proactively affirm reproductive freedom for everyone. That begins with what we say and how we say it.

Whether you are a candidate, a campaign staffer, or a local leader it is important to understand the current status of access to reproductive healthcare in communities across the country and how attacks on these rights affect those in your community.

This panel will discuss how to discuss and message around reproductive health and abortion with voters by holding values-based conversations and facts. Panelists will discuss how you can combat anti-choice rhetoric and work to preserve access to reproductive rights in your community.

Our panelists include:

Ashley Aylward is a Research Manager at HIT Strategies, where she specializes in policing reform, reproductive justice, and young voters. Alongside her work she is currently progressing towards her Master’s in Data Analytics and Policy with a concentration in political behavior at Johns Hopkins University.

Rachel Sweet is an independent ballot measure consultant based in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2022, Rachel served as the Campaign Manager for two critical abortion rights ballot measure campaigns– Kansans for Constitutional Freedom and Protect Kentucky Access.

And this discussion will be moderated by NDTC’s Allyson Raines. Allyson joined NDTC in 2019 as the Chief Operating Officer. Her passion for equitable access to healthcare led her to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund where she spent 8 years fighting for reproductive health care.

ODP Volunteer Summit
Sep 9 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

After a resounding win on August 8th, we Ohio Democrats have an incredible amount of momentum on our side. Looking forward to the fight to codify reproductive freedom into our constitution and countless critical fights in 2024, we need to continue building off our success and work up even more organizing muscle!

Join us in Columbus on Saturday, September 9th for our inaugural Volunteer Summit. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow activists throughout the state who engage in the same vital electoral work as you do face to face. We’ll also hear from many exciting guest speakers who have been doing great organizing work as Democratic operatives for a long time. And no Ohio Democrat event is complete without an appearance from Senator Sherrod Brown, so he’ll be there too!

This Volunteer Summit is a key opportunity to refocus and emerge with clear direction and unison for the long road ahead in this fight to turn Ohio blue. Should be a grand old time too with a lot of fun to be had!

Details of exact location to follow. We look forward to seeing you soon in Columbus!
