VIRTUAL LIVE TRAINING: Expert Q&A Messaging Around Reproductive Rights & Abortion
Jul 20 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Join the National Democratic Training Committee for this great virtual training event!

With the recent onslaught of state laws across the country targeting abortion and reproductive rights, we must proactively affirm reproductive freedom for everyone. That begins with what we say and how we say it.

Whether you are a candidate, a campaign staffer, or a local leader it is important to understand the current status of access to reproductive healthcare in communities across the country and how attacks on these rights affect those in your community.

This panel will discuss how to discuss and message around reproductive health and abortion with voters by holding values-based conversations and facts. Panelists will discuss how you can combat anti-choice rhetoric and work to preserve access to reproductive rights in your community.

Our panelists include:

Ashley Aylward is a Research Manager at HIT Strategies, where she specializes in policing reform, reproductive justice, and young voters. Alongside her work she is currently progressing towards her Master’s in Data Analytics and Policy with a concentration in political behavior at Johns Hopkins University.

Rachel Sweet is an independent ballot measure consultant based in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2022, Rachel served as the Campaign Manager for two critical abortion rights ballot measure campaigns– Kansans for Constitutional Freedom and Protect Kentucky Access.

And this discussion will be moderated by NDTC’s Allyson Raines. Allyson joined NDTC in 2019 as the Chief Operating Officer. Her passion for equitable access to healthcare led her to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund where she spent 8 years fighting for reproductive health care.
